 REOPENING UPDATES

Currently we do not have any updates as to when we will reopen. We will keep you posted as soon as we have any updated information regarding the Shelter-In-Place. Thank you for your patience.

OMG! Nails & Spa have always taken great pride in our clean and well-run salons and spas, and we know this is more important than ever. As we learn how Coronavirus (COVID19) may affect our clients and team, we're making every necessary adjustments to our work and operations to make sure everyone is safe.  We are closely monitoring and following the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) guidelines and recommendations on the steps we can all take to help prevent the spread of the virus.

We have one simple objective that guides us and that is to keep everyone safe. This has been at the center of our conversations every step of the way. As always, our professional licensed staff and salons  are regulated, inspected and have oversight by the State of California Board of Barbering & Cosmetology. We diligently adhere to and practice mandated safety and hygiene precautions, cleaning & sanitizing procedures every day, before and after every service, for every guest. We’re adding to our routines as recommended by the CDC and the Professional Beauty Association.

Disinfection: We comply with California’s Board of Barbering & Cosmetology mandates for proper cleaning and disinfection at all times — from tools and implements to areas with counter tops, treatment rooms, back bars, reception areas, and frequently touched surfaces like doorknobs. We are increasing cleaning frequency for all.

Hand Washing: We encourage hand hygiene by requesting that every guest and team member wash their hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds before and after every service, eating and using the restroom. We are encouraging cough and sneeze etiquette and providing tissues and no touch receptacles. Additionally, we are continuing to provide alcohol-based hand sanitizer in multiple locations and breakrooms to encourage healthful habits.

Stay Home: The CDC strongly recommends staying home when sick. If you don’t feel well, we ask that you reschedule your appointment after the CDC recommended self-quarantine of 14 days.

Signage and Communication: We are posting reminders about hand washing, sanitizer, wiping down stations after use, covering coughs, and hand hygiene policies. Out of an abundance of caution, we are REQUIRING all clients to wear masks for the complete duration of your services for your safety as well as the safety of our technicians.

Please contact us directly to reschedule your appointment at 650-969-3466 for our Mountain View location and 408-338-6883 for our Sunnyvale location.

AFTERCARE

The largest enemy contributing to extension loss are: Oils, Parabens, PEG (polyethylene glycols) and Glycols (Butelyn Glycol). Oils can come from our fingers or from the products we apply. Avoiding direct contact with oils and these derivatives of oils will help maintain longevity of your lash extensions.

After each appointment, avoid moisture, steam and eye make-up for 24 – 48 hours. This means: avoiding exercise, steam from a shower, sauna, raindrops, or tears from an emotional movie.

After 48 hours: Always use eye make-up remover, cleansers, and facial products free of Oil, Paraben, PEG (polyethylene glycols) and Glycols (Butelyn Glycol). **Think about your shampoos and hair conditioners’ too. Do they contain Moroccan Oil, coconut oil, or macadamia nut oil? Do not have these products rinse into your eyes. They will contribute to breaking down your extension adhesive bond.

Clean your lashes with only a lint-free wand. The adhesion point is rough, and lint from a towel or a q-tip may get caught in the bond and cause irritation to your eye. Your extensions are placed 1mm away from the root of your natural lash at your lash line. We all know 1mm is very small. There is a possibility dead skin, debris, or make-up may accumulate in this small space and cause damage to your natural lash.

Avoid any long-wearing, waterproof eyeliners and mascaras.

Schedule timely perfection session (fill-in) appointments with your stylist to maintain your beautiful extensions. Everyone loses their hair at different rates; typically our clients schedule their appointments every two weeks to avoid any large gaps in their lash line.

Alert your other personal care providers such as Estheticians and Massage Therapists. Do not let them use steam or oil-based  products over your eyelash extensions! Ask them to kindly place lint-free eye pads over your eyes when performing their steam and facial massage services.

Avoid intense heat (yes, possibly a hair dryer) and steam. This goes for our bronze tanning bed beauties: be sure to wear eye protection while in the tanning booth. Your extensions are delicate and if under enough heat or steam may prematurely shed or worse, become crinkly at the ends.

We all have a natural hair shedding cycle. Especially when the weather turns warmer or cooler, the hair on our bodies reverts to a primitive status where we shed or grow hair according to the seasons. Sometimes we shed more times than others; as do our lashes. This is a normal process.

Do not use an eyelash curler on your extensions – you will break the adhesive bond and your beautiful, new extensions will shed.

Always use LINT FREE wands to clean your extensions. Do not use wipes, Q-tips, or cotton around your extensions.
